Olja Triaška Stefanović v Bratislave na VŠVU v roku 2007 ukončila
magisterské štúdium fotografie v ateliéry profesorky Miloty Havrankovej, neskôr na
katedre intermedii ukončila doktorandské štúdium a teraz na rovnakej škole už osem rokov
pôsobí ako vysokoškolsky pedagóg V tvorbe ju zaujíma priestor a pomocou fotografie
vytvára obrazové správy svojho vnútorného uvažovania o miestach, opustenej architektúre v
Strednej europe , ako aj o miestach, do ktorých si metaforicky dosadzuje vybrané témy.
V posledných rokoch jej tvorba sa sústreďuje na jej vlastnú pamäť, rodinnú históriu, osobne
spomienky a na termín prítomnosť minulosti v jej osobnom živote. V rokoch 2002 – 2003
bola Laureátkou UNESCO štipendijno – rezidenčného pobyt v Španielsku, v roku 2010 bola
finalistkou 4. ročníka ceny Národnej galérie v Prahe a skupiny ČEZ pre mladého umelca
„Cena 333“, Praha,(CZK), V roku 2015 bola vyhlásená fotografkou roka na Slovensku
a kniha „Architekt Friedrich Weinwurm“ od autorky Henriety Moravčikovej v ktorej
fotograficky zinterpretovala architektúru významného medzivojnového architekta
Friedricha Weinwurma bola ocenená vo Frankfurte v Nemeckom Múzeu architektúry, na
súťaži – International DAM Architectural Book Award 2015 ako je z 10 najlepších kníh na
svete o architektúre z rok 2015. Pravidelne vystavuje na Slovensku a v zahraničí. Žije

Dlhaňová, Divadelný inštitút, fotografia Olja Triaška Stefanović (1978) was born in Novi
Sad, Serbia, in 2007 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design at the
Department of Photography and New Media in Bratislava, and in 2017 finished her
doctoral studies at Department of Intermedia and Multimedia at Academy of Fine Arts and
Design in Bratislava, Slovakia. In 2010 was the Finalist, of Finalist Award 333 organised by
National gallery in Prague, CZ, in 2015 she was announced by Central European House of
Photography / Bratislava as a photographer of the year in Slovakia. In her work she is
interesting in the space and architecture and for many years she had been focused on
mapping 20th century architecture in Central and Eastern Europe. The book FRIEDRICH
WEINWURM – ARCHITEKT, published by Slovart Publishing house Bratislava – Slovakia,
where she made photography essay of the famous architect was among the prize winners
and one of the 10 best book of architecture in the world announced by DAM
ARCHITECTURAL BOOK AWARD, Frankfurt, Germany ( Museum of Architecture,
Frankfurt, Germany) and presented at the Frankfurt book fair. She had been focus for last
years on the relationship between man and the space. She was interesting in dehumanized
space, lonely, lost, and deprived space of their basic functions. The aim of her visual
research through the medium of photography is to open up and show what impact and
influence has space on us, how much space can manipulate with us and why we are feeling
lonelly in the city and in society. In her previous work she documented space as a
abandoned, lonely, neglected and only with a memory of its past glory. In her latest work
she is focused of her personal Yugoslavian history and to our relationship to the past
through memories, personal archives and historical monuments. She was presenting her
work at many group and solo exhibitions in Slovakia and abroad. Her works are part of
collection of city gallery in Nitra, Nitrianská gáleria and for last eight years she is lecturer
at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia. Lives and work in
Bratislava.
