The SLOVAK PRESS PHOTO Foundation, in collaboration with the Open Society Foundation and Lobster guesthouse, invites you to attend a workshop with Stanley Greene (USA), NOOR agency photographer, on documentary photography, against stereotypes in photography, and the ethical limits in photography. The workshop will take place in Senec – Slnečné jazerá from 21 to 23 October 2016.
WORKSHOP
The two-day workshop with 10–15 photographers will be conducted by renowned photographer Stanley Greene from NOOR.
The workshop will consist of intensive group communication with Stanley Greene on the following topics:
- Work and life of a documentary photographer;
- What grabs and shapes us in life, what touches us and reaches inside us,
- Ethics in photography in NOOR;
- Long-term projects;
- Participants´ portfolios;
- Editing;
- Open-end discussions.
The participants will share experiences, work on portfolios, improve editing skills and learn how to pick up and develop stories. The workshop consists of intensive communication with the photographers on subjects ranging from technical aspects of shooting to the nuances of the international photo market. It is a unique opportunity to learn impactful visual storytelling, develop a personal vision, and gain new knowledge and contacts in an intimate and interactive environment.
The workshop is intended mainly for photographers working in the field of reportage and documentary photography and on long-term photographic projects.
The Workshop will be conducted in English with Slovak translation.

22 October 2016 – all-day workshop
23 October 2016 – all-day workshop.

FEE:
The workshop fee is €135.00. The participants are required to pay the fee by bank transfer until 20 October 2016 or in cash on 21 October 2016 (Friday) in the office of the SLOVAK PRESS PHOTO Foundation at Ventúrska 9, Bratislava.

The participants will also pay for their accommodation of €25.00/night, which includes breakfast. Lunches and dinners are offered in the Lobster guest-house for the participants´ convenience. The price of accommodation will be paid directly in the Lobster guesthouse in Senec on Friday, 21 October 2016.
The workshop is organised with the financial support of the SLOVAK PRESS PHOTO Foundation and the Open Society Foundation.
The participants are required to bring their photographic portfolio:
min. 3 and max. 5 photo series (min. 10 images per story);
short introduction for each story (max. 100 words).
