Water is one of the most precious resources on our planet. Essential for life and the functioning of society, it is today increasingly affected by climate change, bringing both droughts and devastating floods. Its significance goes beyond ecology: it shapes everyday life and carries cultural, historical, and symbolic values.
The international traveling exhibition WATER presents works by 15 authors from the V4 countries and Ukraine.
Their photographs capture ecological challenges, the social consequences of water scarcity, and the everyday stories of people and communities connected to this vital resource. The exhibition offers diverse approaches, from documentary reports to poetic visual essays.
The project was prepared by the Slovak Press Photo Foundation with the support of the Visegrad Fund as general partner, and partners HERALD Europa, the Institute of Creative Photography, Białystok Interphoto, and MYPH.
The exhibiting authors were selected by an international jury consisting of Magdalena Herrera, Clément Saccomani, and Jana Hojstričová.
